Matches between Wick and Lingfield are rare and our paths have only crossed once during the 2017-18 season as they were relegated to join us in Division 1. We shared home wins with a 3-0 scoreline at The Lair and a 2-1 defeat on the road, and we pipped them for the third promotion place at the end of the season. Their recent form has not been much better than ours with sixteenth to our nineteenth in the 6 match form table. In the league they took a point from the midweek round at Shoreham but before that they shipped five goals to the visiting Crowborough Athletic - a reversal of their 3-1 win at Crowborough in the FA Vase. Their other league match this month was a win by the odd goal in five at Little Common. They have played three cup matches this month; first up was a 4-0 defeat at Eastbourne United in the Sussex Cup; two games against teams from our Division 1 brought them a 5-2 win over East Preston in the Peter Bentley Cup and a 5-1 over Alfold in the FA Vase.
