Saturday's match sees us play the postponed fixture from last month at AFC Vardeanians as they are no longer in the FA Vase and we do not play in it until next month. Neither side is in great form although AFC were the most recent winners having won 1-0 at Eastbourne United the match before last. The handy form league table for the last six matches provided by FA Full Time places us in fourteenth with AFC nineteenth. The coming match is the first of four games against teams in the bottom half of the table as we then travel to Bexhill United, host Wick and travel to Eastbourne United ahead of the local derby against highflying Crawley Down Gatwick. Apart from their win at Eastbourne, AFC have only picked up a point from a draw at Wick. In cup competitions they have won away at Division 1 opposition in the Peter Bentley Cup and a Sussex FA Cup, but in the second Sussex FA Cup lost at home to recently relegated AFC Uckfield Town. In the FA competitions they lost at Saltdean United in the FA Cup and at our 'friends' Hollands & Blair in the Vase. Saturday presents an opportunity to get our form back on track and start these run of games with a good result.
