Saturday brings just our third home game of the season with the visit of Pagham. Last season we shared a pair of draws which could, and should, have been wins. This season we face a Pagham side whose form is inconsistent. They made a great start to the season with a 5-0 win over our neighbours Crawley Down Gatwick. A defeat at home to Petersfield Town followed, then another on the road at Erith in the FA Cup and again at home to Haywards Heath Town. Their visit to Horsham YMCA brought their second and last win in the league in early August. A short boat ride along the coast to neighbours Selsey in the Sussex Cup brought a victory but Shoreham took a point from their visit in the league while a trip along the coast to Saltdean United ended in defeat. The Peter Bentley Cup paired them at home to Shoreham and this time the visitors won 4-1. Another seaside team in the shape of Bexhill United visited next and won by a single goal. So having played seven league matches Pagham are three places above us thirteenth and have two points more. In contrast to their recent league form they have just won 2-0 at league leaders Hassocks in the Sussex Senior Cup so which version of Pagham will we face on Saturday?
