There is a certain element of Deja Vu about our trip to Little Common on Bank Holiday Monday as on our visit last season our hosts were having a poor run of form. Little Common have lost all their games so far this season and worse still, have yet to score a goal. While we are not required to play in the FA Vase yet, Little Common will travel to SECFL First Division Sporting Club Thamesmead in the opening round in search of a win in their sixth game of the season. Our visit will be the first home game for Little Common which may inspire them no matter how they fare on Saturday. After putting in a great effort in the FA Cup and coming so close to taking the tie to a replay the lads can expect another tough game. We came last season having put in a superb performance in the Surrey Cup at Corinthian Casuals only to lose the penalty shootout. An early goal was not the springboard to go on and win as we promptly conceded three goals by half time. A fight back to level the match came in the second half and when a point seemed to have been secured and added time nearly up, Little Common snatched a winner to end a run of seven defeats. Which just goes to show that you cannot think that a poor run of form will give you an easy game. The Lingers won the home game which helped us finish a place above Little Common in the final table.
