The U23 season rarely flows smoothly as clubs look to protect their pitches for the First Team and postpone U23 games. Having last played a league fixture in November, the team finally had a game last month with a visit to St Francis Rangers and a 2-1 win that was more difficult than it should have been. It did not quite start the games coming as two more fixtures were postponed before hosting Storrington last week. It was a comfortable 3-0 win in the end but the should have been more than one up at half time. The win took us up to third in the table nine points behind Horley Town but with four games in hand. Hassocks top the table also nine points ahead of us but having played only one game more. However, we still have seven games to play.
The first of these is tomorrow as we visit Oakwood FC as the away side. After this we have homes games against Horsham YMCA Thursday of next week, followed by Broadbridge Heath the week after. We have further home games against Horley Town St Francis Rangers and table toppers Hassocks still to be arranged. The only away game after tomorrow is a trip to Roffey that is still to be given a date.
