After a tough 1-0 win over Tunbridge Wells, we are in the Third Round Proper of the FA Vase for the second time in club history. We have been drawn against a team from the Southern Counties East Premier Division once again in Deal Town. This will be another tough match but then when you are among the 64 best Tier 9 and 10 teams in England it is not likely to be anything else. Currently there are still nine Tier 10 teams still in the competition which includes Roffey FC from our SCFL First Division and one will be guaranteed a place in the last 32.
Deal Town had a resounding 4-1 win away to our Premier Division friends Newhaven FC in the Second Round. This was their first match in this season’s competition as they reached the Fourth Round last season. In the 1999-2000 season they won the competition. We don’t have a great record against them having played the 2014/15 season in the SCEFL, losing home and away. Saturday afternoon will be the opportunity to improve that record so come along and support the lads. Wrap up warm as it will be cold but let’s hope there will not be any snow!
